Mill Open House (Free)
Come and visit the St. Mary Meade Farm & Wool Mill! We host Mill Open Houses monthly from April to September with a chance to explore our Mill and Studio. Because we are a working mill, we recommend that children be 9 years of age or older. If you bring younger children, we need you to supervise them closely, keeping them with you throughout the tour.
Our Mill Open Houses include:
- a tour of our working mill to learn about wool and how we turn wool straight from the sheep into beautiful wool products;
- a visit with our flock (from outside their paddock!) to learn about our rare-breed, heritage sheep;
- demonstrations of fibre arts, such as hand-spinning, rug-hooking, and needle felting;
- the opportunity to try your hand at a bit of fibre arts;
- visiting our Mill Shoppe.
The formal tour through the mill is 30 minutes long, however you can spend as much time as you like on the farm and in our Mill Studio, viewing demonstrations and trying fibre arts.
We can accommodate 6 people for each time slot so that everybody has a delightful experience!
We are a working farm so please wear footwear that is suitable for a farm!

Christmas Markets (Drop In Every Saturday: Saturday Nov 14th – Saturday Dec 19th, 10am-3pm)
Spend time with us at Christmas in the Mill! Enjoy warm beverages, treats, laughter, and festive music as you wander through our Mill and Mill Studio exploring beautiful woolly gifts made from our flock and other local sheep! Be inspired by demonstrations of fibre arts as well – spinning, rug hooking, felting, and weaving. This year, we are also offering Christmas boxes (filled with woolly treats for that special someone) – already boxed and ready for gift giving! We are also launching our heritage wool subscription box, where we’ll send out heritage wool or hand-spun heritage yarn from our own flock quarterly – a perfect gift for the spinner, weaver, knitter, or felter in your family!
