About Cotswold Sheep

Cotswold Sheep originated in the Cotswold region of the UK. Many of the large stone buildings in the Cotswolds were built with the sale of money from Cotswold sheep’s wool. Although once plentiful, the Cotswold sheep are now endangered worldwide. A recent article suggested that the UK now only produces 1-2 tons of Cotswold wool per year – an amount equal to 2,240-4,480 lbs. As the largest Cotswold breeder in Canada, our farm produces roughly 1,600lb of Cotswold wool annually – 35-70% of what is produced annually in the UK as a whole. All that to say – we’re serious about supporting this endangered breed!

About the Adopt-a-Cotswold-Lamb Program

People have been asking us whether we could start an Adopt-a-Cotswold-Lamb Program – and we’re excited to launch it this fall. Part of raising an endangered breed is to intentionally curate the bloodlines. The lambs born each year are carefully planned – and we’re offering the opportunity for you to partner with us in the journey of advocating for the Cotswold breed. The Cotswolds’ status has recently moved from threatened to critical and a main goal of the Adopt-a-Lamb-Program is education and advocacy for the breed.

Program Details

The Adopt-a-Cotswold-Lamb Program membership is $200 (per lamb) for the year. You will:

  • Select your lamb(s) of choice (all were born April/May 2026)
  • Receive quarterly email updates (4 per year) with pictures of your lamb(s), with the first one sharing the story of your lamb’s birth and parentage
  • Receive 100g of their raw lamb’s fleece after their first shearing
  • Receive a keychain or pair of earrings made with your lamb’s fleece

We view your membership as a partnership to support your lamb through his/her most critical time of development with feed and, if necessary, medications and veterinary costs. Although we have strict husbandry protocols to minimize injury and disease, we do not allow our animals to suffer with health-related issues and use medications judiciously.

Getting Started

We have a lovely selection of Cotswold lambs – and we’ll add more if needed! Choose your lamb – and then we’ll email you your first update with pictures!

We thank you for partnering with us! Our flock is very dear to us and we are grateful that you are interested in walking alongside us!

In the unfortunate event that your lamb should die, we will help you to select another lamb so that you can continue on in the Program.
